A Note from Susie

Hello Susie,

I’m really enjoying the summer here in the UK – it’s one of the warmest we have had in many years; some are saying as far back as 1976! I remember that heat wave particularly well as we’d just moved from our home with a swimming pool to one that was awaiting one, and Lara and her friends, aged about 4-years old, were running in and out of the sprinklers to keep cool!

As the start of my birthday celebrations, a large group of us went to polo at Cowdray Park last Sunday for the semi-finals of the cup, leading up to the gold cup. It was a really exciting high-goal game and the first time that my grandson, Bassy, and his friend Marco had been to see a polo match.

I asked them what they would take away as an abiding memory and they both said the thundering of the horses' hooves as they galloped past us at full pelt to get ownership of the ball.

That is what I always think of as well – and alone is a great experience even without the thrills of the game and the players attempting to ride off each other. These teams were so evenly matched which made for a thrilling game.

This month, my featured article is the second in the series, Out of Bounds - How to Set Healthy Boundaries. Here we look at Chapter Two: Boundary Conflicts which is about ensuring your boundaries are maintained and preserved. This will take us through the next three months or so, and then we will be working towards our plans to launch into an amazing 2019... I really don’t want you to miss out on getting everything together this year!

And, The SusieZone features Highclere Castle in Hampshire, better known today as the location of the television series, Downton Abbey.

Whilst you soak up the summer sunshine, I would like to remind you that you have the opportunity of a free 30-minute consultation with me to discuss where you are in your life, what problems you may be facing, and to discover how I may help you. Valued at £350, this is my birthday gift to you this month. You will learn more about yourself than you expect and will be able to set plans in motion leading up to the end of the year… under six months away! Schedule your appointment with me here.

I always hope that you consider this an online magazine – your personal ezine - which is equal to one of your favourite monthly "glossies" that you purchase from your local newsagent or newsstand. This is why I always try to make it as interesting and different for you to be able to dip in and out of.

Please feel free to introduce your friends to meet me here in our special shared space. Simply copy this URL - tiny.cc/NewsFromSusie - and paste it into an email to your friend(s) and invite them to join us!

Once again, let me know your thoughts as I always enjoy hearing from you, but for now sit back, favourite hot (or cold) drink in hand, and settle down for a comfortable chat with a friend.

Loving hugs,

Out of Bounds: How to Set Healthy Boundaries - Chapter 2, Boundary Conflicts

by Susie Briscoe

Personal boundary conflicts may arise with new situations in your life that you haven’t been exposed to before.

For example, if you marry a person who has children, conflicts may arise if his or her children don’t respect the boundaries you’ve set for yourself.

Or, you may find yourself in a work situation where you’re being taken advantage of and getting none of the credit for the time and effort you’re expending.

It’s times like these when boundaries become very important for you to rethink and develop.

Boundary conflicts can occur in all areas of your life – work, family, spouse, and friends. This chapter will deal with some of the most common conflicts involving boundaries and how you can cope with them effectively.

Setting Work Boundaries

Fear of losing your job is often a factor in how you view your personal work boundaries. Many people... (Click here to access and read the full article.)

The Susie Zone

In this issue's The Susie Zone, we have two parts, as I am including a heads-up about my interview on Expert Insights which will air on Thursday, July 26!

But first, I am leading with my thoughts and knowledge of Highclere Castle, which will be found under the article of interesting places around the UK which have a particular association for or with me.

Highclere Castle

This is #7 in my series, and this time we are traveling out of London to my own home county of Hampshire where we will find Highclere Castle. Since 1679, Highclere has been home to the Earls of Carnavon and their forebears.

My connection with Highclere is rather more tenuous than usual in that I haven’t hosted a charity event there – yet! We met the former Lady Caernarvon just prior to her marriage at a 40th birthday party held in a rectory in Oxfordshire.

It was such a fun party and lingers in my memory for two reasons - the first being meeting the future Countess Carnarvon, and secondly because of... (Click here to access and read the full article.)
