Hello {!name_fix},

A lot has happened since my last ezine. Baltimore was fantastic, and I met so many like-minded souls who all are taking strides to make a real difference in the world. It's always reaffirming, refreshing as well as invigorating when this happens. Here is the group pic celebrating our time together!

On my return the weather was still like an Indian summer, and yet I could see that Concombre was getting sleepy, and was almost ready to hibernate. Because we are moving house at some point soon, I really didn't want her to dig into the ground here, and so hurrah!

For the first time ever, Lara—her rightful owner if you recall... she was a present from a French exchange student 33 years ago!— has agreed to look after her, and as of yesterday, she (Concombre) is ensconced in her new garden home. My grandson Bassy is absolutely delighted with his new friend and Lola, their family Siamese cat, was suitably suspicious of course, but I was relieved to hear that all was well this morning. She was still sitting quietly contemplating her surroundings.

The article and poem today were both brought about by my thinking of how much I love to sit quietly and contemplate, much like Concombre is doing each day. So I really hope that you will find them both interesting and helpful. Remember to take action, and set yourself up now by laying out your goals, desires and dreams and discover how you are going to achieve them by making a plan that you can easily implement... it would be my honour to help you with this, whilst also learning how you can make a real difference in the world.

For now, I would like to remind you that you have the opportunity of a free 30-minute consultation with me to discuss where you are in your life, what problems you may be facing, and discover what your solutions are. Please remember to click on my Skype link or email me (susie@susiebriscoe.com) to schedule a time.

Let me know your thoughts, but for now, sit back, favourite mug of hot drink in hand, and settle down for a comfortable chat with a friend.

Loving hugs,

Reduce Stress and Be Happy
by Susie Briscoe

We have looked at ways to alleviate stress from your life before, however with the changing seasons, and so much to do, I think it's worth revisiting this again today. I have some simple ideas which will help you become a stress-free zone, will allow you to schedule and realise the importance of creating goals, which will then, by using a step by step method allow you to de-stress and take some personal time without the fear of not being on top of everything.

Anything taken too much is bad for the health. A little stress is actually good, as it could serve to help you function at your best. However, stress that seems a little too much could take a physical, as well as mental, toll to your body. Stress should be managed in order for depression or anxiety to be prevented.

So how should you do it then? The following are tips and advice to help manage stress.

Write it out, schedule it out.

It is best to write down everything that seems to be overwhelming. You will find a things-to-do-list much easier to manage than having errands all crumpled up in your head. Writing down the tasks, and putting a specific schedule and time to do them, helps anyone manage activities one chunk at a time. Crossing out an activity that has already been accomplished is very rewarding and could actually help you feel more relaxed when doing the other tasks at hand.

One at a time works.

Focus and put all your attention specifically on one task at one time. It does not help to feel panicky about the other undone or to-do tasks. Thinking about them only adds unnecessary stress and could even hamper in doing the task you are attempting to accomplish at present.

Relax and take it slow.

At least, try not to expend too much energy on activities that are currently not priorities. This is in order for your energy to be not easily expended on the tasks that are not that important, at least for now.

Delegate, delegate, delegate.

You need not do everything all at once, and you need not do everything on your own. Ask for help, get help, or pay for help. When there is a feeling of being overwhelmed that is cropping up, hire someone to mow the lawn or get a sitter for your children. The feeling of being pressed to finish something on time will somehow be eliminated if tasks are delegated. It takes a load off unnecessary worry and anxiety. Moreover, it is easier checking up on how things are, than worrying yourself sick doing everything on your own, all at once.

Give yourself a reward.

You deserve it. Acknowledging your accomplishments, no matter how big or small, is an effort that is necessary before getting on to the next tasks and activities. It reduces stress and could even make you happier in doing the next task.

Give yourself a break.

You need it to be more productive. A ten to fifteen minute break during your work is necessary. Go visit a cafe nearby, take a quick brisk walk, or do anything to put your mind off work, at least for a while. This is necessary to refresh and recharge. Believe it or not, you can also stay in your work and sit with your eyes closed as you visualize a peaceful landscape or a relaxing scene. This frees the stress from your muscles and your mind.

Relax and be cool. Doing so makes you healthier, happier, and a lot more productive.

Please don't hesitate to call or Skype me if you'd like to explore this issue further and let me know what methods help you.

This is where I share my best mentors & resources with you; please take the time to look at each of these suggestions, as I personally find them all to be extremely helpful in my business life...

Leisure
by W. H. Davies

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare

William Henry Davies or W. H. Davies (3 July 1871 - 26 September 1940) was a Welsh poet and writer. Davies spent a significant part of his life as a tramp or hobo, in the United Kingdom and United States, but became one of the most popular poets of his time. The principal themes in his work are observations about life's hardships, the ways in which the human condition is reflected in nature, his own tramping adventures and the various characters he met. Davies is usually considered one of the Georgian poets, although much of his work is atypical of the style and themes adopted by others of the genre.
"I felt that you explained everything very clearly to me and this made me feel very 'safe'. Your questioning skills were excellent, they were not invasive but they hit just the right challenging tone to help me really examine what I meant. You had the ability to come at things from another angle when I got stuck, and at the end of the session, I felt that I had been listened to carefully and thoughtfully. Your comments were insightful and really helped to move me on in my thinking. I thank you."

- Karen B, Australia
"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.

- Oprah

Oprah Gail Winfrey (born January 29, 1954) is an American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist. Winfrey is best known for her multi-award-winning talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show, which was the highest-rated program of its kind in history and was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2011. Dubbed the "Queen of All Media", she has been ranked the richest African-American of the 20th century, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, and is currently North America's only black billionaire. She is also, according to some assessments, the most influential woman in the world. In 2013, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama and an honorary doctorate degree from Harvard.

Winfrey was born into poverty in rural Mississippi to a teenage single mother and later raised in an inner-city Milwaukee neighbourhood. She experienced considerable hardship during her childhood, saying she was raped at age nine and became pregnant at 14; her son died in infancy. Sent to live with the man she calls her father, a barber in Tennessee, Winfrey landed a job in radio while still in high school and began co-anchoring the local evening news at the age of 19. Her emotional ad-lib delivery eventually got her transferred to the daytime-talk-show arena, and after boosting a third-rated local Chicago talk show to first place, she launched her own production company and became internationally syndicated.
Susie Briscoe has devoted nearly a decade of her professional life to achieving excellence in entrepreneurship. She now brings her years of hands-on experience to help struggling business owners breakthrough their own blocks and overcome their personal gremlins to become the success that they know they are meant to be.

Susie has identified 'Leading Legacy' work as a major part of her passion. This is about filling the gap; working with people who still have an empty feeling inside themselves for whatever reason, and finding a way to give back to the world whilst recognising the importance of not wasting time as the clock continues to tick...

With her signature spirited style, 'can do' energy and exceptional skills as a catalyst and educator, Susie is without question the go-to-girl for guidance on overcoming disadvantages and finding 'silver lining rainbow solutions' within any grey clouds. Since 2004, Susie regularly meets and speaks with clients from around the world to educate and inspire them to bring money and meaning into their business and personal life, showing how to overcome any individual hurdles along the way.

She has successful experience of working with all ages, from teenagers in their senior year at school or technical colleges approaching University and other life choices to those either retired or approaching retirement who recognise there is still music yet to be played within them.
