Hello {!name_fix},

Kicking off this issue with a little game for you:

I look forward to hearing how long it took you to see even one, so remember to share your experience!

Just a quick head's up: I have 3 places opening up for people to work privately with me for the next six months. If you think this could be of interest, please apply to me at susie@susiebriscoe.com, and I'll send you more details together with a questionnaire for you to fill in to see if we are a good fit. Just 3 people will be able to join me on this route of discovery, so I encourage you to take action to discover and implement the changes you want to make in your life now! Exciting times ahead.

Six months into the year -- half way through! Is it possible? I can remember as a child that time seemed endless... and the time between my summer birthday in July and Christmas interminable. Now things just speed past; I'm not sure what happened to the first six months of the year, but I hope that like me, you have found it exciting as well as challenging -- keeping you on your toes!!

On a personal note, my beloved cat -- I called her my Dowager Duchess, but her real name was Babushka -- passed away peacefully in my arms. It is always a sad time, especially when you have enjoyed your pet from a kitten through to old age... she was 17 and was a joy and mischief all wrapped up together. My two teenage tearaways -- otherwise known as Wizty and Toffi, who are now almost fully grown adult cats -- are completely discombobulated by Babu's passing. They are just beginning to come to terms with it only now, nearly a week later.

Many of you have noted how keen I am on promoting Christine Kloser's Transformational Author Experience, which has just finished its 4th annual outing. I thought it would be helpful, as so many of you have shown interest, in following up with a note from my friend and colleague Cindy Heil, who has trudged the weary road that follows the writing: the publishing experience! She has written my guest article this week, and I hope you will find it to be of interest. As you know, I only introduce valued mentors to you here, and have every confidence in you finding Cindy to be a helpful as well as interesting person to add to your own rolodex.

For now, I would like to remind you that you have the opportunity of a free 30-minute consultation with me to discuss where you are in your life, what problems you may be facing and discover what your solutions are. Please remember to click on my Skype link or email me (susie@susiebriscoe.com) to schedule a time.

Let me know your thoughts but for now sit back, favourite mug of hot drink in hand, and settle down for a comfortable chat with a friend. Loving hugs,

Susie xx
How Well Do You Maintain Balance?
by Susie Briscoe

If trying to maintain balance in your life makes you feel like a tightrope walker, you're not alone. Most of us have so many demands on our time and energy, life can feel like a three-ring circus. Take this quiz to see how well you are meeting responsibilities, while also recognizing and fulfilling personal needs and wants.

True or False:

__ 1. The only way I can successfully manage my life is to take care of myself physically and emotionally.

__ 2. Nurturing myself enlarges my capacity to help others.

__ 3. I eat healthfully and exercise regularly.

__ 4. I get check-ups, go to the dentist, and take preventative precautions.

__ 5. I set aside personal, quiet time for myself, whether I'm meditating or simply letting my thoughts drift.

__ 6. I experience the gifts of each season: ice skating, sledding, bundled-up beach walks; gardening, hiking, more time outside; camping, swimming, barbeques; harvesting the bounty, gathering wood, spending more time inside.

__ 7. Creativity nurtures me, too. I do what I love, whether that's cooking, drawing, painting, writing, dancing, singing or another creative pursuit.

__ 8. Reaching out to others enriches my life. I spend quality time with family and friends.

__ 9. Contributing to the world provides connection and purpose, so I give my time, energy and experience where it is most useful.

__ 10. I notice and heed the emotional signals that tell me I'm out of balance: irritability, overwhelm, resentment.

__ 11. If I feel that I'm catching a cold, I realize I may have stressed my immune system with overactivity, so I stop and take care of myself.

__ 12. When I need or want to, I say no to requests for my time.

__ 13. I listen to and honor the requests my body makes for such things as a nap, a walk, green vegetables, hot soup.

__ 14. If I have something planned for myself, I don't just toss that aside when someone makes a request of me.

__ 15. I'm busy, but I find time to do the things I want to do.

__ 16. I'm happy. I regularly experience well-being, contentment, even joy.

If you answered false more often than true, you may want to take a look at the questions to which you answered false and see if you can incorporate something of its message into your life.

Please don't hesitate to call or Skype me if you'd like to explore this issue further.
So, You Want To Write A Book
by Cindy Heil, Publisher

Fantastic!

Now really is a fantastic time to be an author. With all the digital options available, you are no longer restricted to being accepted by the big publishing houses. You have opportunities that have not been afforded authors in the past.

Whether you think so or not, you have a story to tell. Your story is unique, and no one can tell it like you can. If God has given you a message to deliver, He chose you because you can point people to Jesus that no one else can reach.

So let's begin.

Your Story

You have a story to tell -- your successes, your mistakes and your failures can all help someone else. Whether you tell it as a novel, an autobiography or in an inspirational format, your story can reach an audience that is waiting for what you have to share.

Through your book, you have the ability to impact people today and make an impact on generations to follow.

But the big question is -- how do you even begin? Setting out to write a book can be a daunting prospect. While there is no one way to write a book, no established set of rules to follow that will guarantee a great book, there are points to consider that can help you get started and keep you moving forward. Don't feel like you have to make yourself into someone else's mold. Remember, they are sharing with you what works for them. Take what you can learn from them, but don't stop being who you are. Some people need more structure to stay on track. For others, too much structure smothers creativity.

We are all put together differently, and we need to work with who we are. But there are guidelines that will help.

Let's Get Started

Here are some points to consider as you begin your journey.

1. Make an outline. How detailed is up to you. We are all different, and we all think and process information differently. You may flow more freely with a more detailed outline. Just don't get lost in your outline. Remember, at some point, you have to start writing.

If you need just a few points to keep you organized, great. A more detailed outline may work against you -- make it more confusing and tied down.

Start with what works for you. Just like the ability to edit what you've written, you can always go back and change your outline, add points and ideas to it. It is not set in stone. Let it flow. Let it be alive.

2. Be ready to write -- anywhere. Here are some ideas to help you catch your creative moments when you aren't in your office. Take advantage of your options. That way you won't have to try to remember what you thought about. It's much easier to go back and clarify and edit than it is to try to remember what you wanted to say. It will eliminate the stress of trying to be productive if you stay in 'writing mode.'
  • Carry a small recorder with you. Keep it with you like you do your wallet. I use my smartphone to record ideas that I will need to remember later.
  • Keep a small pad with you to be able to write notes as you think of things. I've often written thoughts on napkins when I'm on a break, at lunch or whatever.
  • Send yourself an email or text.
3. Write. Just write. Don't worry about spelling, punctuation, grammar. You can refine it later. The most important thing is to get your thoughts on paper.

4. Don't let your insecurities stop you. Remember that, at this point, you are the only one that is reading this. Once you get the information down you can elaborate, organize and delete it if you decide to.

The advantages of working with Destiny Alignment Publishing:

- Work with someone who understands where you've been, where you are and where you want to go
- We believe God has given you a message to deliver, a story to tell
- We will help you take your concept all the way through to publication

Giving Back... Contribution is such an important part of our lives these days, whether at a local community, an individual or a global level.

The Kibobi's 'Royal Visit' concluded successfully and they are now back at Magnet High in Ongata Rongai. As always, they were well received everywhere by the schools, but of course it is the children that they really connect with in their own inimitable style, as they share dances and singing from their own tribal backgrounds. I'm so happy to report that once again they have made many new friends with all the special benefits that will bring to their community, not just in donations, but also in experiences.

If you'd like to find out more about their work please email directly to Bishop Jeremiah Apollo at bishopkibobi@yahoo.co.uk.
Vernie Wilson from Trinidad & Tobago says: It has been a pleasure to connect and work with Susie, over the last few months. I was not sure what to expect when I decided to participate in the program, however I am very pleased that I did. In my opinion, this is purely because of whom you are and the knowledge and skills you brought to the program.

Your ability to manage each session with precision and freely sharing your experience and knowledge allowed me to see past where I was. I honestly have to say that you literally pulled me out of an emotional hole. I was stuck. I was especially impressed when you quickly offered up solutions and alternatives so that I can move forward.

Your expert guidance has given me new insights into my own self, abilities and the many possibilities that await my exploration.

Thank you for caring and for the wonderful support you gave.
