Hello {!name_fix},

Whilst enjoying some sunshine my thoughts are naturally turning towards gratitude and appreciation: and so I thought that would be my focus for today's ezine. I hope you will enjoy my article on this, together with a great poem and a quote which I think really all fit together well.

If you would like to discuss your own appreciation and the power that can be harnessed by accessing this gratitude I remind you again to get in touch and organise a 30-minute free strategy session with me so that we can put something together for you to take forward in your own life and business. Please click here to make your appointment.

Whether you're a natural introvert or extrovert, attending live events and meeting peers and colleagues in person can make a dramatic difference in the success of your business. Read the guest article by my friend and colleague, Alicia Forrest below to learn more about the benefits of turning up live!... For years I was too shy to put my own hand up in school even when I was 100% sure of the answer... too shy for my own good. My how life has changed since I've managed to get over that 'stage' and realise that it's not about you but the people you will meet and interact with... so much more important and much more FUN!

For now, I would like to remind you that you have the opportunity of a free 30-minute consultation with me to discuss where you are in your life, what problems you may be facing and discover what your solutions are. Please remember to click on my Skype link or email me (susie@susiebriscoe.com) to schedule a time.

As always, I look forward to your feedback, but for now sit back, relax with favourite mug of hot drink in hand, and settle down for a comfortable chat with a friend. Loving hugs,

Susie xx
Accessing the Power of Gratitude

The practice of gratitude as a tool for happiness has been in the mainstream for years. Long-term studies support gratitude's effectiveness, suggesting that a positive, appreciative attitude contributes to greater success in work, greater health, peak performance in sports and business, a higher sense of well-being, and a faster rate of recovery from surgery.

But while we may acknowledge gratitude's many benefits, it still can be difficult to sustain. So many of us are trained to notice what is broken, undone or lacking in our lives. And for gratitude to meet its full healing potential in our lives, it needs to become more than just a Thanksgiving word. We have to learn a new way of looking at things, a new habit. And that can take some time.

That's why practicing gratitude makes so much sense. When we practice giving thanks for all we have, instead of complaining about what we lack, we give ourselves the chance to see all of life as an opportunity and a blessing.

Remember that gratitude isn't a blindly optimistic approach in which the bad things in life are whitewashed or ignored. It's more a matter of where we put our focus and attention. Pain and injustice exist in this world, but when we focus on the gifts of life, we gain a feeling of well-being. Gratitude balances us and gives us hope.

There are many things to be grateful for: colourful autumn leaves, legs that work, friends who listen and really hear, chocolate, fresh eggs, warm jackets, tomatoes, the ability to read, roses, our health, butterflies. What's on your list?

Some Ways to Practice Gratitude
• Keep a gratitude journal in which you list things for which you are thankful. You can make daily, weekly or monthly lists. Greater frequency may be better for creating a new habit, but just keeping that journal where you can see it will remind you to think in a grateful way.

• Make a gratitude collage by drawing or pasting pictures.

• Practice gratitude around the dinner table or make it part of your nighttime routine.

• Make a game of finding the hidden blessing in a challenging situation.

• When you feel like complaining, make a gratitude list instead. You may be amazed by how much better you feel.

• Notice how gratitude is impacting your life. Write about it, sing about it, and express thanks for gratitude. As you practice, an inner shift begins to occur, and you may be delighted to discover how content and hopeful you are feeling. That sense of fulfilment is gratitude at work.

How are you expressing and living in your own 'Power of Gratitude?' I hope this will stimulate your own thinking... is this ringing any bells for you? Please don't hesitate to call or Skype me if you'd like to explore this issue further. I'd love to hear your thoughts here...

Giving Back... Contribution is such an important part of our lives these days, whether at a local community, an individual or a global level.

The Right Reverend Jeremiah Kibobi, the Bishop of Ongata Rongai, Nairobi, Kenya, has arrived and has been enjoying visiting various schools around the UK. We have arranged for him to meet pupils from Cheltenham Ladies College, Harrow, Lavant House, and St. Catherine's, amongst others and they are based at Dulwich College... I'm looking forward to reporting on how much he and his wife enjoyed what we have dubbed "The Royal Visit"!

Pictured is the Cheltenham Ladies' College, just one of the schools happy to support Bishop Jeremiah and whose pupils and staff have visited him at Magnet High School, Ongata Rongai, Kenya. To communicate directly with him and get the first hand information, email jeremiahkibobi@yahoo.com.
I work in a professional environment where sometimes people's feelings and true motives can be overlooked, in an effect to get an end result as quickly as possible. I feel that I am fairly rare in that I always try and look beyond the "here and now" and endeavour to do what is best for all involved parties in the longer term. This takes more time and requires a bigger input emotionally as well as professionally, but I always feel that it is more than worth it, and without realising it, ensures greater profitability and repeat and referred business.

In Susie Briscoe I have found a like-minded person. She is inspirational without even trying. She encourages and nurtures without patronising. She gently leads whilst making you aware of your own strengths and qualities. Most importantly she succeeds because she cares. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Susie in any of her skills and genuinely wish her continued success

and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything

and this is the sun's birthday; this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any-lifted from the no

now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

- e e cummings

Edward Estlin Cummings (October 14, 1894 - September 3, 1962), known as E. E. Cummings, with the abbreviated form of his name often written by others in lowercase letters as e e cummings (in the style of some of his poems), was an American poet, painter, essayist, author, and playwright. His body of work encompasses approximately 2,900 poems, two autobiographical novels, four plays and several essays, as well as numerous drawings and paintings. He is remembered as an eminent voice of 20th century poetry.
This is where I share my best mentors & resources with you; please take the time to look at each of these suggestions, as I personally find them all to be extremely helpful in my business life...

This time, you may feel I'm repeating myself, however these are 3 special people whom I cannot speak highly enough of: Ali Brown, Christine Kloser and Ben Croft.

Ali shared her thoughts and dreams around the importance of Spirit in her life and business; Christine is running her Transformational Author Experience for the 4th year running, and it's Ben's 3rd year of his much acclaimed WBECS. All are colleagues, and people I trust enough to work with myself -- just so you know I walk my own talk and always go to the best people for knowledge and training. At least one of the speakers at WBECS has also personally endorsed me for the work I do... for which I'm very grateful and proud!

Ali Brown is one of my most valued colleagues and mentors, who showed me how to make online marketing actually profitable, so when she thought "Something is VERY wrong..." in the spring of 2010, I decided I had to listen. Click through on the link below to discover more about her newest and most inspired programme: "7 weeks to a Higher Power"

Ali says it's her "coming out" about the spiritual power that's behind her business success, and she's even a bit nervous about this. But she knows this information and her story will help so many others, that it's worth risking feeling so "open". Ali is onto something big with this, and I think you should take a good look at this here, and you will also be able to hear the recording of her special introductory teleseminar.

The wonderful Christine Kloser, has launched her Transformational Author Experience for the 4th year in a row and I am already booked to go to Baltimore, Maryland in September to be an active member of her workshop. I am hoping to win the big prize of getting my book published -- so we could be in direct competition here! Here is the link for you to discover more about what's happening:

"'I'm bored' is a useless thing to say. I mean, you live in a great big vast world that you have seen none percent of. Even the inside of your own mind is endless; it goes on forever inwardly, you understand? The fact that you're alive is amazing. So you don't get to be bored."
