Happiness ~ The Key to Success, by Shanthi Yogini
Yoga Master Shanthi Yogini guides you through a 12-step, easy Yoga-Meditation formula to Happiness ~ The Key to Success!
I really like the way Yogini Shanthi has presented her ideas on this huge subject, and meditation is such a useful tool to understand and implement in your life.
I'm reading it in Kindle and it looks great. This is an awesome job of getting her message across about the processes involved in meditating.
|
|
Most people strive to be successful in life because they are misled into thinking that when they become successful, they will be happy. In fact, Yogini emphasizes that the opposite of that is true.
Only when you are happy, can you be successful in the true sense; namely to live to your highest potential. Success that equates to just achievements, name, and fame is not the key to happiness. Happiness IS the key to success.
This book assists in breaking the chains of unhappiness and offers healing, happiness, and success.

The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**K, by Sarah Knight
The word-of-mouth international bestseller about giving less f**ks and living your best life in the process!
My daughter actually introduced me to this book, and it is just hilarious. I thought very hard about how to write this review, and finally decided that I should just give you the reviews written by some of the best critics in the UK and beyond.
So... here are their words, and I hope you find it freeing in every sense:
|
|
This book will help you redefine what really matters. (Stylist)
The best book I have read recently... Absolutely blinding. Read it. Do it. (Liz Jones Mail on Sunday)
Every woman's handbook. (Evening Standard)
Life-affirming... The key practice she advocates is devising for yourself a "f**k budget." It's a beautiful way of streamlining your psyche. (Lucy Mangan Guardian)
I love Knight's book before I even start reading... The book works a charm. (Sunday Times Magazine)
Genius. (Cosmopolitan)
Her book wooed me with this line: "Hot yoga? Don't give a downward f***!" She has some frank advice. Bite me off a piece of that, I think. (Style, Sunday Times)
Yes, it's a parody of a cult book... but it's something more, too. Knight acknowledges the 'overwhelmingness' of the modern world in a different way to many before her (Guardian)
Changed my life. To this day, I think about how it schooled me in the fine art of giving less f*cks about people (and party invites) who don't really matter to me, and saving my precious time and energy for those who do. I wasn't alone - the book became an international bestseller. (Vogue)
My new saviour... hilarious! (Psychologies)

A Butler's Guide to Table Manners (National Trust History & Heritage), by Nicholas Clayton
This was a great book to read, and it didn't take long to do so.
For me it was a reminder of how I was brought up, but even so some manners were perhaps even then not as they should have been.
I always tried to ensure my family had good table manners, but sadly things slip as they get older and have their own children, but "granny" always tries to enlighten when she can.
|
|
This is really good because it does tell you when slight variations are acceptable. Nowadays mealtimes are less formal - but buffets are still very common place - and we have all seen the piled plates! Read just for fun if nothing else, and little bits will stick.
Mandatory read for the young of today, as manners and the use of them seem to be rapidly disappearing. Food being dispersed due to mouths not being closed, with elbows out and armed ready for a hostile takeover is not a pretty sight!! Brilliant and informative.

4 Tribes, One Earth, by Pip McKay
In Pip's new bestseller, she helps you overcome your communication problems, so you can find compassion and strength in all walks of life.
Pip shares these lessons in a parable in order to teach you about how differences between people can often just be miscommunications and they can be overcome easily.
4 Tribes One Earth is based on a love story between two diverse characters.
|
|
As the two characters overcome their boundaries and limiting traits to find love in each other, you will learn a valuable lesson of compassion and understanding.
Pip reveals how to identify and hone the 4 common human communication behaviours in order to have better interaction, to learn from others, to find strength in differences with others, and to evolve and grow from it.
