Again, I'll include other books I recommend as well, not just the ones the publishing company asks me to review! Enjoy!

Dogtology: A Humorous Exploration of Man's Fur-ocious Devotion to Dogs, by Jeff Lazarus

Where to begin! Jeff Lazarus obviously has a brilliant understanding of the canine world and its inhabitants right across the board.

With tongue planted firmly in cheek, Lazarus relates in an LOL way how Dogtology is a belief that recognizes Dog as a genuinely "elevated" being and there are these Dogtologists who aren't just fond of dogs - they laud them and plan their days/nights around the needs and wants of Dog.

A whimsical, satirical celebration of the relationship between dogs and humans, patterned after a religious text, Dogtology will resonate with dog lovers from all walks of life and every creed. Each of the seven chapters with 40 photos reveal additional proof that humans have a deep need to believe in something more ideal than themselves. Devotees of Dogtology will see themselves illustrated in the same system of rituals, practices, and behaviours personified by other devoted orders the world over.

I just loved it and would suggest that, if you need a good laugh and some down time, this is the light-hearted book for you…

Catakism: A Humorous Purr-spective of Humankind's Obsession with Cats, by Jeff Lazarus

Ok, so for those of you who have good eyes you may well have seen that I also bought Lazarus' other book on dogs and loved it too... however this is also so funny that when I read the 'look inside' I knew I had to get this book too.

First of all I speak cat... since I was about 25 years old, I have been privileged to have been servant to 14 of these wonderful deities and definitely can state that Lazarus knows his subject extremely well.

Catakism ~ Do you bow to the meow? Are you one of the 70 million people who devote time and income to grooming, feeding, coddling, photographing, praising, and "entertaining" Cats? Does your Facebook page have more photos of your Cat than of your siblings? Do you buy furniture for your Cat in hopes that one day, he'll actually sit on it?

So bearing this in mind: Catakism is mankind's unending and near-fanatical devotion to Cat. In fact, a Catakist does not consider Cat a pet but rather a minor deity, no a MAJOR deity. In this furr-ociously funny gift book, author Jeff Lazarus tells how Catakism is a belief that recognizes felines as elevated beings worthy of mankind's near-religious reverence and devotion. Catakists aren't just fond of Cats - they extol them and plan their days/nights around the needs and wants of Cat.

If anthropologists from outer space were to study our civilization objectively, would they not conclude that our devotion to Cat amounted to nothing less than a full-blown religion? Would they be wrong? Very witty and highly recommend.

Do I need to apologise for giving these two books extra time and space? I hope you won’t think so, and I totally enjoyed reading them both. Lazarus is a natural at identifying the idiosyncrasies that our best loved domestic pets possess.

Blah to Bling: Living the Exceptional Life, by Venus Stark

In this new bestseller, Venus Stark reveals how to overcome struggles, build confidence, and unlock your potential for living a happy and fulfilling life.

This is a great book to inspire you to get on and take action; definitely a good book for a March read, after the parties in December, followed by the regrouping of everything in January and February, this fills the bill!

Venus covers various issues and topics that you might be facing in some or all areas of your life.

With effective methods and strategies that she has developed and used during her career, you will be enlightened on what elements makes your life truly exceptional, fulfilling, and full of meaning.

Unmasking What Matters: 10 Life Lessons from 10 Years on Broadway, by Sandra Joseph
(#1 International Best Seller)

Living a meaningful, satisfying life is an enigma for most people today. We feel stuck, small, without the self-confidence to move in the direction of what we really want.

Or, if we do muscle through our fear in pursuit of our dreams, we exhaust ourselves working and striving and achieving and - yet somehow - no matter our level of outer-world success, are left dazed and disheartened, asking ourselves, “Is this all there is?”

After ten years on Broadway, Sandra Joseph (the longest-running leading lady in Broadway’s longest-running show, The Phantom of the Opera) knows one thing for sure: the only way to have a truly fulfilling life and achieve success that satisfies is to recognize that the journey up is no substitute for the journey in.

In Unmasking What Matters, Joseph uses lessons learned on  Broadway (during her decade as Christine) and through the challenges she faced after walking away from the business, to show readers how to courageously bring their inner voice to the outer world, to stop seeking success for achievement’s sake, and to start creating the life they truly desire.

With her hard-won wisdom, poignant personal stories, and practical, experiential exercises to guide them, readers will learn to shed their limiting masks, mindfully work through their fears, stand in their authentic power, and build a life rich with satisfaction, meaning, and significance.

Warm, humble, encouraging, and inspiring , Unmasking What Matters can help anyone move from stuck, fearful, and 'playing it safe', to embracing their passions, gifts, and opportunities, and living life “full-out” today.

Get in the Boat: A Journey to Relevance, by Pat Bodin (with Robert Schaffner, Contributor)

This new bestseller by IT Expert Pat Bodin shares the unique method on how technologists can be more business savvy and become valuable assets to their organizations!

Are You in the Boat?

Risk of change and an uncertain future threaten technologists worldwide. Worse, most feel unappreciated by and disconnected from business leaders.

In light of the ever-evolving business landscape, Pat Bodin has now released his new bestseller to help technologists around the world. Drawing on others' wisdom while presenting innovative new ideas, the book provides technologists with strategies and tools to become business savvy and lead organizations to success. It identifies the three tiers of business hierarchy and explains how technologists can use a color-coding system to better understand others in their organization.

Business leaders need technologists. The problem is that they don't always realize it. Technologists are routinely dismissed as irrelevant at best and a hindrance at worst. The problem is partially misunderstanding and partially miscommunication. Thankfully, this book addresses both, analyzing how business leaders differ from technologists as well as how to speak relevantly.

In Get in the Boat, Bodin utilizes his unique perspective to provide a fresh and effective take on how technologists can become decision makers within their organization, or "get in the boat," so to speak. Technologists want to be strategic thinkers who are viewed as relevant and who regularly apply their capabilities to further their organization's goals. The information shared in this book will help technologists elevate themselves to business relevance.

Harry Potter - A History of Magic: The Book of the Exhibition, by the curators of the British Library

This book is a must for all the true Harry Potter fans. I have to admit to being smitten with the subject – even as an alleged adult! – and have all the collector’s items from the series.

Now I am taking joy from these add on books enhancing the magical aspect of the writings.

There are the most beautiful illustrations inside as well as the whole being printed on quality paper, appropriate to it being the Book of the Exhibition of the Magic at the British Library.

I highly recommend!

Thoughts of Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, by Marcus Aurelius, translated and edited by George Long

The reason for me getting this thoughtful book based on the thinking of Marcus Aurelius were on the amusing side.

I have met, and am in a Mastermind with, Marcus Aurelius Anderson, and I reviewed his book last month.

That got me thinking... we all know that famous name, so I decided to research him in a more thorough way and came across this book.

The author opens with a very valuable discussion on the history of the so-called "Meditations" - and how it may have originated, and what purpose it may have served - and closes with an analysis about what we may learn of the character of Marcus via his writings.

Those looking for a straightforward commentary on the "Meditations" may not find quite what they are looking for here, but it's a valuable work going deeper into the background and context of Marcus' writings and indeed a very good work on Stoicism in general.

I found it interesting and different from a lot of the modern books which I have used in my own personal development.

And as always, I'd love to hear what you think about these books!!
