Looking to new beginnings...
|
|
Hello Susie,
I’d like to indulge myself a little with you here today, hopefully with your understanding. In August 2016, my world fell apart when my husband suddenly collapsed and subsequently died. It has now been a full year since this occurred, and the cycle is really complete for me in that it is also a year since his funeral and service of thanksgiving.
|
|
It has been a difficult experience and yet one that has promoted personal growth. It’s quite surprising how difficult it is when you have to think as a single person again after 46 years of happily being one half of a couple.
During this year, I undertook a time of healing for myself – which is what prompted sharing my knowledge and new learning in the series around chakra work and self-care – as well as having written a book which I am dedicating to my late husband, Albert, when it’s published. And, if I can finally get the editing finished, it is due to be published next month.

My trip to Mexico is now only about 7 weeks away! I'm so excited to be traveling with my daughter Lara… and I’d like to share this picture of us both taken at the beach celebrating the last year, where we both had to come to terms with our loss - as widow and daughter.
|
The picture of me at the top of the newsletter was taken the same day and I hope it shows us both looking forward to the next part of our lives as independent women… although Lara is still very much a wife and mother. This is where I am grateful for now being a grandmother!
This month, my featured article is about How to Find Inspiration in Nature and in The SusieZone we continue with the chakra theme, entitled: Understanding and Working with Your Crown Chakra.
For now, I would like to remind you that you have the opportunity of a free 30-minute consultation with me to discuss where you are in your life, what problems you may be facing, and to discover how I may help you. Maybe for the first time, I will make this a more definite call to action with an emphasis on encouraging you to please remember to click on my Skype link or email me to schedule a time to get together.
Once again, let me know your thoughts as I always enjoy hearing from you, but for now, sit back, favourite hot (or cold) drink in hand, and settle down for a comfortable chat with a friend.
Loving hugs,
P.S. I also wanted to share this thought with you. It’s about the Rainbow Tree…

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts, too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Don't be afraid that your life will end; be afraid that it will never begin.

I was very honored to receive recognition recently by Corporate Vision (CV) Magazine as one of the Top 50 Coaches in the UK.
Thank you to my wonderful clients and readers for inviting me into your lives.

How to Find Inspiration in Nature
by Susie Briscoe
|
Most of us would admit to finding a sunset somewhat moving and possibly inspirational. Few of us can walk past a beautifully red and purple sky without stopping to take a look and probably upload a picture to Instagram. The same can be said of star-filled skies and crashing waves. |
|
But what is it about nature that we find so beautiful and so inspirational? Why are poets, artists, and musicians drawn to these scenes? And how can you use this to encourage more creativity in your own life?
Why We Find Nature Beautiful
It’s a mistake to say that we find nature beautiful in particular. In fact, we can just as easily experience a sense of awe looking at man-made things. Try climbing to the top of a high building and looking out over the skyline of a city, and see how you feel. Likewise, many of us would express a sense of awe looking at the pyramids.
We feel awe, reverence, and wonder when we see things that we find hard to fathom and that we can’t quite take in all at once. Things incredibly intricate, incredibly beautiful, or incredibly vast all create a sense of being small in a universe full of incredible possibilities. Research shows... In this issue's The Susie Zone, we continue our exploration of the Transform Your Life Through Chakra Work: Continuing an Introduction to Your Chakras.
Understanding and working with your CROWN CHAKRA (Lotus Sahasrara), the spiritual gateway centre. It is the seat of the soul. This centre filters soul energy, a.k.a. Prana.
Functions of the Crown Chakra, the top of your head - higher self.
|
|
The Crown Chakra is appropriately named. The seventh and final energy center is located at the crown of your head. This is sometimes referred to as the Thousand Petal Lotus Chakra and is the center of enlightenment. The Crown Chakra (Sahasrara in Sanskrit) connects you to the universe as well as creation's divinity.
Seventh Chakra – Spiritual connection, beliefs, understanding, thought, and awareness. This is the crown chakra that relates to consciousness as pure awareness. It is our connection to the greater world beyond, to a timeless, spaceless place of all-knowing. When developed, this chakra brings...

On my search for a top class coach and mentor, I have often felt like a prospector looking for gold or oil - many dry wells and false digs - until I met Susie.
This was pay dirt, the big cahoona, the ultimate treasure. What we are searching for can often be found inside ourselves and that is exactly what Susie does.
Susie in a remarkably friendly manner is able to get right to the core of any issue and help unlock the potential we have inside ourselves. She does this though active listening, probing questions and manages to cajole the underlying motivation that spurs us into action to truly take the right steps that we need to take on our journey of growth.

"You can kiss your family and friends good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world but a world lives in you."
~ Frederick Buechner
Carl Frederick Buechner is an American writer and theologian. He is an ordained Presbyterian minister and the author of more than thirty published books.
|
Born: 11 July 1926 (age 91), New York City, New York, United States
His work encompasses different genres, including fiction, autobiography, essays, and sermons, and his career has spanned six decades. Buechner's books have been translated into many languages for publication around the world. He is best known for his works A Long Day's Dying (his first work, published in 1950); The Book of Bebb, a tetralogy based on the character Leo Bebb published in 1979; Godric, a first person narrative of the life of the medieval saint, and a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 1981; Brendan, a second novel narrating a saint's life, published in 1987; Listening to Your Life: Daily Meditations with Frederick Buechner (1992); and his autobiographical works The Sacred Journey (1982), Now and Then (1983), Telling Secrets (1991), and The Eyes of the Heart: Memoirs of the Lost and Found (1999). He has been called "Major talent" and "...a very good writer indeed" by the New York Times, and "one of our most original storytellers" by USA Today. Annie Dillard (Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Pilgrim at Tinker Creek) says: "Frederick Buechner is one of our finest writers."
Buechner's work has often been praised for its ability to inspire readers to see the grace in their daily lives. As stated in the London Free Press, "He is one of our great novelists because he is one of our finest religious writers." He has been a finalist for the National Book Award presented by the National Book Foundation and the Pulitzer Prize, and has been awarded eight honorary degrees from such institutions as Yale University and the Virginia Theological Seminary. In addition, Buechner has been the recipient of the O. Henry Award, the Rosenthal Award, the Christianity and Literature Belles Lettres Prize, and has been recognized by the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. He is continually listed among the most read authors by Christian audiences.

Welcome to the monthly Book Review!
This is a new regular feature. Many of you have asked what books I’m currently reading, and are asking me for recommendations.
Finally, the penny dropped. I put my choices onto my Pinterest Boards, so why not also let you know about them here?!
This month, my book recommendation is Illness Can Be The Cure by Dr. Anne Redelfs. This book reached out to my core! Having suffered with chronic fatigue, ME, and other debilitating illnesses, it was a joy to find someone writing with real knowledge on the subject.
|
In my experience, the majority of medical doctors seek physical causes when diagnosing illness in our physical bodies. Their aim is to educate their patients about tangible reasons for each health challenge. Anne takes a different approach based on many years of exploration of the psychological body or soul. She has grown to hear the emotional and mental causes revealed by our illnesses, which she is eager to share with you.
Wouldn't it be nice to hear what each soul is communicating through your chronic fatigue, your husband's sports injury, your parent's heart disease, your daughter's asthma, or your son's attention deficit hyperactivity disorder? Wouldn't it be better to respond to the soul's request for change rather than going the route of long-term medication with frequents visits to clinics and hospitals? In this book, Anne shows that symptoms often express the exact adjustments heart and mind must make if you and your loved ones are to develop to your human potential.
So many people suffer from a lack of knowledge of their psychological bodies and a lack of connection to them. They don't relate to their souls on a daily basis nor do they work to improve them regularly. They don't realize that they carry enormous burdens of many unresolved traumas and many unprocessed feelings and beliefs that resulted from these traumas. This stagnation and burdening of their psychological bodies must sooner or later impact their physical health. When we're listening, we hear the soul urging the healing and humanizing of every part of us through every part of us: body, heart, and mind. Why not start listening to this soul talk today?
