A Note from Susie

Hello Susie,

Summer in the UK has seen mixed blessings! Some of the days have reminded my of the idyllically long days of my childhood, when we would have lessons out of doors, and the summer holidays stretched endlessly. I loved horse riding along the beach at East Preston and exploring for as many seaweeds as I could find followed by patiently gazing into the rock pools for signs of sea life in a miniature ocean.

Other days it has been tempestuous rain which has beaten down the crops. Living in the countryside I know how badly this has affected the harvest, which even in a good year means incredibly long days ensuring all is safely gathered in for winter storage.

The trip to Mexico gets ever closer and I have to confess to having a moment or three earlier this month when I started to wonder what on earth I was thinking to embark on such a bold project as to write a book. Having had some really inspiring talks with my publisher and editor, I’m beginning to feel slightly more comfortable that it will be something that will also be inspiring for you, my reader!

I also have some other exciting news to share! I am being interviewed by the Empire Radio Now Show TODAY, Wednesday at 9:40 a.m. EST and if you click on either of the links below, you will be able to hear the show LIVE! I hope you tune in for this 8-minute radio interview!

Click on this link https://empireradionow.com/studio1/ or this link http://tunein.com/radio/ Empire-Radio-USA-s281334/ to listen in!

This month, my featured article is about How to Motivate Yourself Forever and in The Susie Zone we continue with the chakra theme, entitled: Understanding and Working with Your Third Eye Chakra.

And, just a heads-up about a new programme that is nearly ready to launch: Your Life Investigation, which will help you really get to know and understand yourself -   like a life, business, and career audit - which I know you will have fun with. Just a few tweaks and it will be ready for me to introduce you to ‘yourself’!

For now, I would like to remind you that you have the opportunity of a free 30-minute consultation with me to discuss where you are in your life, what problems you may be facing, and discover how I may help you. Please remember to connect with me on Skype or email me to schedule a time to get together.

Once again, let me know your thoughts as I always enjoy hearing from you, but for now sit back, favourite hot (or cold) drink in hand, and settle down for a comfortable chat with a friend.

Loving hugs,

How to Motivate Yourself Forever

by Susie Briscoe

Just as willpower is an essential factor in achieving success, at some point in time, discouragement and lack of motivation may hinder you from reaching your objective. And it is up to you, and you alone to devise techniques that will help you keep that drive within afire.

It is helpful to have visual goals.

Motivate!

Whatsoever that is you are working towards, make it visual. It may be something material like a car, or a vacation you have been looking forward to for the longest time.

Take or cut out a picture of it and post it at a conspicuous place at work or at home where you can see it often, so that when you feel discouraged, this will...

The Susie Zone

In this issue's The Susie Zone, we continue our exploration of the Transform Your Life Through Chakra Work: Continuing an Introduction to Your Chakras.

This month, I am pleased to offer you the Third Eye Chakra (Lotus Ajna), the psychic energy centre.

This centre is the doorway into the subconscious mind. It assists in exploration of higher realms.

Third-Eye Chakra

Getting to Know Your Third Eye Chakra

Your sixth chakra gets its name because of its placement. It is located between your eyebrows, thus earning its name as the third eye chakra. The Sanskrit word for this energy center is Ajna, and its color is indigo blue or purple.

Sixth Chakra – Light, vision, sight, perception, visualization, insight, dreaming. This chakra is known as the brow chakra or third eye center.  It is related to the act of seeing, both physically and intuitively. As such, it opens our psychic faculties and our understanding of archetypal levels. When healthy, it allows us to see clearly, in effect, letting us "see the big picture."

As you can imagine from its name, the energy...

What Others Are Saying

I felt that you explained everything very clearly to me and this made me feel very 'safe'. Your questioning skills were excellent; they were not invasive but they hit just the right challenging tone to help me really examine what I meant. You had the ability to come at things from another angle when I got stuck and at the end of the session I felt that I had been listened to carefully and thoughtfully. Your comments were insightful and really helped to move me on in my thinking. I thank you, as it was a very helpful session!

Quote of the Week
Eleanor Roosevelt

I’ve looked around for a good motivational quote for you this month, and found this from one of my favourite people...

"Never Mistake Knowledge for Wisdom.  One helps you make a living; the other helps you make a life."

~ Eleanor Roosevelt

Anna Eleanor Roosevelt October 11, 1884 – November 7, 1962) was an American politician, diplomat and activist.

She was the longest-serving First Lady of the United States, having held the post from March 1933 to April 1945 during her husband President Franklin D. Roosevelt's four terms in office, and served as United States Delegate to the United Nations General Assembly from 1945 to 1952. President Harry S. Truman later called her the "First Lady of the World" in tribute to her human rights achievements.

Roosevelt was a member of the prominent American Roosevelt and Livingston families and a niece of President Theodore Roosevelt. She had an unhappy childhood, having suffered the deaths of both parents and one of her brothers at a young age. At 15, she attended Allenwood Academy in London and was deeply influenced by its feminist headmistress Marie Souvestre. Returning to the U.S., she married her fifth cousin once removed, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, in 1905. The Roosevelts' marriage was complicated from the beginning by Franklin's controlling mother, Sara, and after Eleanor discovered her husband's affair with Lucy Mercer in 1918, she resolved to seek fulfillment in a public life of her own. She persuaded Franklin to stay in politics after he was stricken with debilitating polio in 1921, which cost him the normal use of his legs, and Roosevelt began giving speeches and appearing at campaign events in his place. Following Franklin's election as Governor of New York in 1928, and throughout the remainder of Franklin's public career in government, Roosevelt regularly made public appearances on his behalf, and as First Lady while her husband served as President, she significantly reshaped and redefined the role of that office during her own tenure and beyond, for future First Ladies.

Though widely respected in her later years, Roosevelt was a controversial First Lady at the time for her outspokenness, particularly her stance on racial issues. She was the first presidential spouse to hold regular press conferences, write a daily newspaper column, write a monthly magazine column, host a weekly radio show, and speak at a national party convention. On a few occasions, she publicly disagreed with her husband's policies. She launched an experimental community at Arthurdale, West Virginia, for the families of unemployed miners, later widely regarded as a failure. She advocated for expanded roles for women in the workplace, the civil rights of African Americans and Asian Americans, and the rights of World War II refugees.

Following her husband's death in 1945, Roosevelt remained active in politics for the remaining 17 years of her life. She pressed the United States to join and support the United Nations and became its first delegate. She served as the first chair of the UN Commission on Human Rights and oversaw the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Later she chaired the John F. Kennedy administration's Presidential Commission on the Status of Women. By the time of her death, Roosevelt was regarded as "one of the most esteemed women in the world"; she was called "the object of almost universal respect" in her New York Times obituary. In 1999, she was ranked ninth in the top ten of Gallup's List of Most Widely Admired People of the 20th Century.

Book Review
The Ultimate Book of Confidence Tricks

Welcome to the monthly Book Review! This is going to be a new regular feature. Many of you have asked what books I’m currently reading, and asking me for recommendations. Finally, the penny dropped. I put my choices onto my Pinterest Boards, so why not also let you know about them here?!

So, my first choice to kick off this column must be from Ros Taylor. I discovered Ros whilst wakening early (2  a.m.) after a long-haul flight from India. She was on television delivering a series of programmes (from 2 – 6 am) for the Open University, working as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. I was so impressed with her that within about 4 hours I’d bought all her books and contacted her.

Ros is the person who showed me there was another way to help people. In my 50s then, I knew that it was a bit late to do all the training required to get to her level of attainment but it did open a window to me to look at Coaching as a new direction to take.

This book is a good starting point for doing what it says on the cover: Boost your confidence to an all-time high -- in just 7 days. It is indeed ‘the Ultimate book of Confidence Tricks’! If you'd like to purchase this book via Amazon, click here.

Or, check it out (along with other Pins) on Pinterest!

Let me know how you enjoy it!!
